Privacy notice
AIM Consulting Associates Inc. ("AIM", "we", "us") is a company incorporated in British Columbia, Canada. This notice explains what personal information we collect through this website and by email, why we collect it, who processes it for us, how long we keep it and how you can see, correct or delete it. We follow British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act and, where it applies, Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act.
Who is responsible
Our Privacy Officer is responsible for how AIM handles personal information. You can reach the Privacy Officer at info@aimconsultingassociates.com, with "Privacy" in the subject line.
What we collect, and why
- When you write to us. If you email us or use the contact form, we receive your name, email address and anything you choose to include, such as your organization, role, phone number and a description of your project. We use it only to reply to you, to discuss the work you asked about and, if we agree to work together, to set up and carry out that engagement.
- When you visit the website. Our hosting provider receives the technical information every website receives: your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. It is used to deliver pages and to protect the site against abuse. We do not use it to identify you.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not use your information for advertising.
Cookies and analytics
This website sets no cookies of its own and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Our hosting provider may use strictly necessary security cookies, for example to tell visitors apart from automated attacks. If the contact form is shown, it is provided by Tally and may use the storage that Tally needs to work. If we ever add analytics, we will update this notice before doing so.
Who processes information for us
We use a small number of service providers. Each processes personal information only to provide its service to us, under its own terms and privacy commitments.
- Cloudflare, Inc. hosts this website, protects it from attacks and passes email sent to our domain on to our mailboxes. Cloudflare privacy policy
- Google LLC provides the mailboxes in which we receive, store and send email. Google privacy policy
- Tally (tally.so) runs the contact form, where the form is shown on this site. Tally privacy policy
We may also disclose personal information where the law requires it, for example in response to a valid court order.
Information stored outside Canada
Our service providers may store or process personal information outside Canada, including in the United States and the European Union. While it is there, it is subject to the laws of that country and may be accessible to its courts, law enforcement and national security authorities.
How we protect it
We make reasonable security arrangements to protect personal information, including strong, unique passwords on our accounts, encrypted connections to this website and limiting access to the people at AIM who need it to respond to you. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so please do not send confidential technical data in a first message; we will agree confidentiality terms with you before any such data is shared.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for, or as long as the law requires. Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are deleted within 24 months of our last contact. Records of engagements are kept for as long as our contracts, professional obligations and tax law require, and are then deleted.
Your rights
You can ask us:
- what personal information we hold about you, how it has been used and to whom it has been disclosed;
- to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- to stop using your information, or to delete it, where no legal obligation requires us to keep it.
Write to the Privacy Officer at info@aimconsultingassociates.com. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request. We will respond within 30 days, or within any extended period the law allows, in which case we will tell you why.
Questions and complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle personal information, please contact our Privacy Officer first so that we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or, where federal law applies, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
This website is intended for businesses and professionals. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this notice and the date below before the change takes effect.
